details
In 2007, after years producing some of the world’s most exclusive events, Unik Ernest returned to Haiti and confronted a reality he could not ignore. In Bel Air, one of Port au Prince’s hardest hit neighborhoods, children were growing up without schools, without meals, without futures. Out of that moment, Edeyo was born.
Co founded with his childhood friend Michael Pradieu, Edeyo - which means “help them” in Haitian Krèyol - began as a modest school for 88 children. Today it provides daily education, food, and support for more than 300 students, many of whom arrive in polished shoes and pressed uniforms, determined to learn despite the challenges around them.
Edeyo is more than a classroom. It is a symbol of possibility. For parents, it represents dignity and relief. For children, it is often the only meal of the day and a safe place to dream beyond the limits of poverty. For Haiti, it is an investment in future leaders who will shape the country with integrity and resilience.
